Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Care that goes beyond just survival.

BraveHearts gives more than 100 orphaned children with special needs a safe home, medical care, therapy, schooling and plenty of laughter.

“To provide a safe haven that maximizes opportunities for kindness, recognition, connection, and play within our community.”
The BraveHearts vision

What we do

We have been picking up the pieces of these children’s lives.

We are committed to the development, care and happiness of the children in our program.

Children sit together around a table sharing a meal.

Loving care

We want to give them loving care, laughter and fun, counseling, and a nutritionally rich diet.

A doctor in green scrubs treats a child's foot while carers look on.

Medical care

It is life saving to have compassionate medical care, with people teaming up to consider ongoing health plans.

Two carers give physiotherapy to children lying on a green mat.

Rehabilitation

We want to give them the best rehabilitation possible, with access to specialized therapists.

Learning

A school is attached to the center, where our children and disabled children from the community learn skills for independent living.

Read our story

“We head off in a joyous tuk-tuk convoy, wheelchairs, and babes in arms, Cambodian style.”

We hold regular celebrations and organise outings to the beach, the zoo and the parks, so that the cries and tears are also mixed with laughter, giggles and whoops.
